Hi, my name is Cecilia Wong and I am from Bedford, NH. I am currently a first year New Media Design student at Rochester Institute of Technology. If I'm being honest, it's way out of comfort zone. My main area of skill was always more traditional fine art. I've never really worked with any kind of digital media or coding of my own before, so it's safe to say that I've been learning a lot so far this year.
Apart from my interests in the art and design world, I enjoy having tons of hobbies that I tend to lose interest in within a couple of months. Recently, I've become a proud plant mom of 9-ish and I plan to someday have an entire indoor jungle and breath the crispest of air. I also started relarning the guitar (one of my many past abandoned hobbies). I think this one's really gonna stick especially now that I can now sufficiently play "Cherry Wine" by Hozier. I grew up in a fairly musical household but was always the one child that decided they wanted to learn an instrument and then lose interest in a month at most. My dad is known for his enormous collection of normal and obscure instruments that is completely unnecessary for just one person. Just a few months ago, I was bombarded by the poor playing of a didgeridoo at 10 at night. Keeps it interesting.
I can't pick an aesthetic to save my life, so at the moment its an art kid/wannabe sk8er boi/plant mom/lowkey insomniac kind of deal. It's a vibe for sure.
One of my more long-standing hobbies is snowboarding, which I've stuck with for around 4 years now. My goal for the future is to be one of those terrain park rats that can pull tricks off left and right and then almost crash into a 4-year-old on a leash. I might also want to be known for pulling off a super sexy giraffe onesie with pink heart glasses, where I speed by on the mountain and people don't know if I was a fever dream or not. Why not both?
Another hobby that stuck with me for most of my life if horse riding (but please GOD never call me a horse girl. If you've ever met me I'm literally anything but). I've done this competitively for many years and now compete on RIT's Equestrian Team in both English and Western disciplines.
